Our beloved government had changed our education system to the BM system again, seriously a unwise aka stupid decision.
I am disagree with some Chinese tat support this decision. Do u really think tat by teaching science and maths in bc will improve the young generation? No! Seriously they have no brain, there is a Chinese saying tat "bitter first, sweetness later"(direct translate). What use if u learn S&M in bc, cuz u still have to learn S&M in other language when u enroll to secondary school. Now, in S&M BM, satisfied brainless ppl? Just stick to the English system la! I mean, come on la, why not pursue the government to modify the system instead of supporting to change the eng system.
Now they increase the time for BM in primary school from 270 to 360 mins and eng is onli from 60 to 90 mins! Wat the fuck is this man? What did our busturd education minister said? he said he will increase the eng class and wat now?? Their mentality are all the same and nvr change.
Congrats to the monkeys because u had made a decision tat no other leader will make, u r making this country backward.
Should i consider myself lucky? Pity for our younger generation because they had become the victim of the politician for power.

I have to say...it may be true that what you say is right and I agree with you...
But have you even thought about those that are less fortunate as you?
Have you ever realized that there are more people that is havin difficulty in trying to learn a new language when the sources for it is insufficient?
It maybe true that this is bringing the country backwards instead of forward...
But when the country is that forward already, why pretend that we are and try to fast forward everything?
You know how to use the proverb, 'rome is built in one day'...
But do you know the true meaning of it?
Do you know the actual issue here?
Ask yourself that...and consider others beside the small population you see in the urban areas...
As much as I wanna say more, I just wanna say that it's true that learning Science and Maths in English is better however, this is only our own preference when we are already English educated and exposed to the English language at a young age...
This may not be true for many others...
So think from the other perspective...
apologies...let me erm, correct my previous comment abit...
But have you ever thought about those that are less fortunate than you?

But when the country isn't that forward already, why pretend that we are and try to fast forward everything?
ouch, it hurts, lol. ofcuz i noe la, i am also come from chinese skul and i am not english educated. i noe how hard it is to learn a new language. i am no difference with those in rural area when i was in primary skul, honestly. I dun even understand a single eng sentence during tat time. I speak chinese, i listen to chinese song, radio station and everything tat is in chinese. i was a total cina ah beng from standard 1 until form 3. I was forced to learn eng when i enrolled into secondary skul and tats y i can speak and write eng now.
Yes, i agree tat by using mother tongue to teach will improve their understanding, but when they r in secondary skul, can they use their mother tongue to understand S&M?IDTS. It is hard in the beginning but eventually, we will get used to it and getting better. this statement is true because basically tats is how we understand a language. When we are exposed to a new language for a long period, we will somehow understand. Ofcuz teaching S&M canot let them understand fully about eng, but at least can prepare them be4 they enroll into secondary skul.
In chinese skul, the eng period is very few, seriously. I believe tat majority of the students dint even bother to learn at all, tats include me as well, haha. If parents have the spare time to teach their children eng everyday,or the children are very hardworking to read eng books, tats fine, but i believe tat majority of the parents do not have the spare time to do so,and majority of the children dint belong to this category, dont u think so?
Everything has it price, ofcuz this eng system need to go through a certain time in order to be successful. For example, do Universities of Singapore are famous within a short period of time? They have to go through few decades to improve and improve until they achieve success. How many billions had the government spent on this system and now they stop it. How about those who are stuck right in between the eng system and the current 1?they learn in eng from form 1 to 3 and have to study in bm from form 4 to form 5 AND study back eng during form 6? the politicians feel nth because they r not the victim and the money they spent is not their, it is the ppl money.
Actually there are more tat i wanna say, but i forgot liao, thx to the stupid blogger management, dint save my comment, all DISAPPEARED!!!!!!!!!!!! bastard.
if i can remember i will write somemore
We can think from the other perspective, but not bend over backwards in the sake of making some people happy and AT THE SAME TIME putting them at a disadvantage.
Science and Maths in Eng is HARDLY too much. Too much would be teaching everything, from Sejarah to Ekonomi Asas in Eng. Be realistic. If S&M is taught in BM, how many scientific terms used are 'pure' BM ? Most are just brought over from Eng. S&M will then be taught in English after Form 5. The transition from BM to English will happen anyway, so why expose students to that from an earlier age ? Isn't that better than struggling to learn the language when the subject matter is so much heavier ?
Are we so prejudiced as to say that the very people who 'need' to have S&M taught in BM, will most probably not progress further than Form 5?
Again, just who is at a disadvantage here ?
There is some substantial truth to what that julz said. For us Gossip Girl-watching, Harry Potter/ Twilight-reading group, we don't even bat an eyelash when studying both Maths and Science in English.
But then again, not to sound condescending or anything...to the Senario-watching, 'Harry Potter & Batu Azimat/ Bulan Baru-reading crowd, studying Maths & science in english takes on a whole new toll on them. I quote here in the words of En. Saad, "Kalau ajar dalam bahasa yang 'tak faham', macam mana nak faham"?
However, at the same time, we are living in a democratic country and in the words of Kath Day in the show 'Kath & Kim'; "This is democracy, honey. We don't get to vote".
What a cold and common old way to go. Oh well...
